Q. How easy is it to drive a motorhome?
A. Motorhomes are very easy to drive. They all have power steering and are very easily maneuvered once you've adjusted to their size in relation to a saloon car. Some of our older models however don't have power steering; please check with us if you are considering a 2 berth.
Q. How many people can I take in a motorhome?
A. It's usually a maximum of six people. All manufacturers specify the number of designated passenger seats for travelling? These will all have seat restraints fitted. Where belts are fitted they must be used by law.
Q. Do I need an international permit to drive abroad?
A. Usually holders of an international license (with photograph) are accepted in most European countries. While any person wanting to drive any campervan must provide their details before the vehicle is driven away.
Q. Can a motorhome be driven on an ordinary car license.
Motorhomes up to 3.5 tonne can legally be driven on an ordinary car license.
Q.Where can I get the caravan part of the motorhome checked out and serviced
A. If purchasing a motorhome from us we will look after the habitation area and look after the mechanics.
Q. Can you buy a motorhome to fit into a standard garage?
A. Low line conversions (Campervan type) with an elevating roof usually fit a standard garage and we sell them.
Q. What are the rules for seating passengers?
A. Passengers should only use designated passenger seats, as specified by the motorhome manufacturer.
Q. Are motorhomes suitable for disabled people?
A. Many wheelchair users and their carers find that motorhome vehicles can be easily adapted for their needs. Ramps and lifts can be fitted and some other internal modifications can be carried out to adapt the vehicle.
Q. Is there any way we can try a motorhome out before we buy?
A. Motorhomes are available to rent from us and we encourage 'try before you buy'.
Q. Do we need to connect up to an electricity supply for power?
A. Most motorhomes have leisure batteries which can service most needs overnight and recharge on the move. Most sites now allow main connectors, for which your motorhome will be equipped.
Q. Are motorhomes equipped to deal with cold weather?
A. Most manufacturers now "winterise" motorhomes to European Standards, making them suitable for year round use in the country of origin.
Q. Are motorhomes expensive to run?
A. Motorhomes offer excellent performance for their size and weight with diesel power for the majority of vehicles today, offering excellent fuel efficiency.
Q. How is effluent disposed of when not on site?
A. Most service areas have a facility for the disposal of all waste.
Q. Where can water be obtained to top up on board fresh water tank when not on site?
A. All service areas offer this facility and many friendly filling stations
Q. Do you have a motorhome that will sleep 10/12 people?
A. 10 berth expedition vehicles will be available from Vanderlust in 2009
Q. Do you provide drivers for hire to drive the motorhomes if required?
A. Yes! Drivers can be provided.
Q. Could I hire for 2 days?
A. Yes we operate a 2 day minimum rental.
Q. How many K/S can I travel and what are the insurance costs?
A. Unlimited K/S are provided, and the Standard insurance eccess of 1600 euro is payable when hiring any of our campervans.
Q. Can we go to other caravan parks?
A. You can as long as you make arrangements, we have liaisons with selected parks for discounted rates.
Q. What else can we use the caravan parks for?
A. You can arrange to use the park's facilities to recharge the system "Toilet/ shower and water tanks".
Q. What sort of battery power system does the campervan have and use?
A. Our campervans use dual battery systems, lasting for up to 12 hours when fully charged, i.e. only recharge when driving or plugged into a power source, which will be shown when picking up the campervan on the day.
Q. What is supplied with the campervan?
A. Firstly the campervan, with all oils and waters checked before departure
Q.Do the campers have gas?
A. Yes, gas is provided with the campers.
Q. What is the minimum age to hire campervan?
A. 25 years, "Conditions apply". Ask when making enquiry.
