Vanderlust Conversions

We understand that people use campers in different ways and for different uses, therefore Vanderlust offers bespoke conversions to suit these needs. Bring your vehicle to us and we can fit elevating or high top roofs, insulate and line, fit furniture and all other systems you will need to enjoy life on the road.

As everyone's plans are different we cannot produce a price list for every eventuality so please either just give us a call or send us an email enquiry and we can talk you through your options and then cost out your individual work.

If you only want us to do part of your conversion, perhaps the roof and trimming, then we're very happy to work with you to take on the parts which you'd rather not do yourself.

Source Materials

We use high quality materials and products imported directly from Europe. All our conversion work is covered by a 12 month warranty and all appliances are also covered by separate 12 month product warranties. The brand names of products we use include Reimo for elevating roofs, SMEV for hobs and sinks, Vohringer for lightweight laminated furniture board, Fiamma for roof lights and accessories, Truma for heating systems and Sargent for the electrical system.

Elevating Roof of High Top?

Experience has proven to us for an elevating roof the German manufactured Reimo option is the best on the market - it's available for both short and long wheel base vans either in a front or rear elevating design.

If you don't want to change your roof then converting the inside of your van whilst keeping the fixed flat steel roof is not a problem.

Designing the Living Space

The internal layout of your campervan can alter according to your own design, but if you want a double seat/bed, fridge, hob and sink then the traditional layout with units along the drivers side of the vehicle is by far the best option.

There's a wide choice in the size and style of fridges, sinks and hobs - a narrower fridge or perhaps a coolbox will allow you to swivel both front seats, a grill can always be made to fit but its position depends on the width of your rear seat.

Safe Travel and Flat Bed Sleeping

The width of the seats can be adapted to meet design specifications. A 120cm wide seat is a standard size that gives a decent double bed and sitting positions for two, both with a three point integrated seat belt and integrated headrest. Increase the width to 130cm and you'll then have full seating for three and all with full seat belts and headrests.

You can also choose the fabric - from a standard VW finish, or choose your own materials.

Folding simply into a bed, the seats will give you both a comfy night's sleep as well as a comfy journey there!

Roof beds are an easy option and immediately double the sleeping space of your campervan. 110cm wide and 190cm long, our beds are designed to hold the weight of two adults and with a 50mm high density foam mattress, they're comfy as well as strong.
